The blog was started in 2016 by Thaisa Fernandes, an experienced and knowledgeable professional, who wanted to share her knowledge and insights about product management as she transitioned into a product role. To prepare for this role, Thaisa completed various certifications, such as Scrum Master and Product Owner by Scrum.org, as well as a coding bootcamp scholarship from UC Berkeley.
Throughout her journey, Thaisa shared her learnings and insights on the blog, and as she transitioned into a program management role, she began incorporating the program perspective into her writings as well.
In 2020, PM101 has begun accepting guest posts, which allows other experts in the field to share their insights and perspectives on product management. This feature has expanded the scope of the blog and has added more diverse perspectives to the blog.
